How to announce your engagement on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.

Taking that next step and getting engaged is a bookmark moment in your life and I understand how you share this moment is important (Congratulations by the way!). Simply changing your relationship status to engaged isn’t enough, you want to captivate your friends and family and let them be apart of your moment.

You can easily be creative with how you post this exciting news, whether that is coming up with a cute and loving caption, grabbing the perfect picture or using props. Check out some of these wonderful announcement ideas below:

Post a ring selfie with him.

Ring selfie’s are a classic way to announce your engagement, it grabs the attention of your friends and family without the need of a complicated caption. A great way to setup this picture is by having your ring in focus and your husband to be in the background, whether he is smiling or jumping for joy it makes for a great announcement.

Getting your pets involved.

If your pet is at the heart of your little family then this one is for you! Your furry little companion can be a great way to showcase your engagement whilst adding another level of cuteness. Understandably when working with your furry companion it can be slightly difficult depending on their level of obedience.

If your pet is obedient then our favourite shot is where you place the ring on their nose, or you have the ring on their collar. If your pet is a little less obedient you could get a bandana or sign made to showcase the announcement on. In regards to you being in the picture, this is completely optional and both make for a perfect announcements.

Elegant photo with a subtle caption.

Take an elegant picture of you and your fiancé with your ring visible and pair this with a beautiful subtle caption. To help inspire your captions, we’ve chosen our favourites below:

  • “(Insert engagement date)”

  • “A new beginning”

  • “I said YES!”

  • “My greatest accessory”

  • “The beginning of my forever”

  • “Easiest “Yes” I’ve ever said!”

  • “Life has more sparkle now”

The key for a subtle caption is to confirm what your friends and family are seeing, it doesn’t need to be lengthy or complicated.

Use props and your personalities.

Using props can be fun and creative, something you both can get involved in and create together. Using your personalities for this idea can create a much more impressionable post, for example if you’re known to always be out together drinking coffee then why not get a coffee and take a pen to write Mr & Mrs on the cups. If you’re known to always go to the beach then spell out your announcement in the sand, or you could use some custom props if you wanted a more simplistic approach.

Don’t be worried to experiment with different ideas, be creative and enjoy finding something you’re both excited to do.
